Project Overview:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cHarmonizing Stakeholder Interests\u201d COIL initiative comprised two distinct projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Wakiso Ministry Zonal Office Website Development Project:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u27a2 Objective:<\/strong> Enhance communication and information sharing between the public and officers at the Wakiso (Busiro) Ministry Zonal Office, specifically regarding land-related matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u27a2 Approach:<\/strong> Design and implement a website where the public can submit concerns related to property and land ownership and registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u27a2 Deliverable:<\/strong> A functional website developed and tested by a student from Makerere University, intended for use by the Ministry of Zonal Offices and the Ugandan population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Livelihood Assessment of Project-Affected Persons (PAPs) in Kykaboga Village, Hoima District, Uganda:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u27a2 Objective<\/strong>: Evaluate the impact of development-induced displacement and resettlement on PAPs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u27a2 Approach:<\/strong> Conduct a thorough assessment of affected households\u2019 livelihoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u27a2 Deliverable: provided recommendations<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provide PAPs with skills that promote self-resilience and sustainability post resettlement. Suggest methods to minimize adverse effects on PAPs\u2019 livelihoods during resettlement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students on the MBA Global Healthcare Management and Leadership course at Coventry University London provided consultation to the Ugandan student teams at Makerere University, Kampala, throughout the course of the two projects. They advised on website design and functionality, conducted research on United Nations’ policies regarding Accountability to Affected People following a resettlement and displacement due to a new project initiative.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
