Today I have to talk about a “good design” that I like. I choose the artwork of Eugène Delacroix “Liberty Leading the People”.
I studied this artwork when I was in high school and it is one of my favourite artworks that makes me feel some emotions, there are a lot of actions to understand in this artwork. It’s not only an artwork but a symbol as well, that represents the people advancing on the barricades, led by a female figure, the personification of Liberty.
I like the composition of this artwork which is dominated by a pyramid scheme: in the foreground, dead and wounded do not stop the advance of commoners and bourgeois who, together, fight for common ideals. A boy holds two pistols, and brandished swords rise in the air, some can be glimpsed in the distance in the smoke of the fire that confuses the characters and buildings of the city.

This artwork definitely fulfils its task that’s why is one of the most famous painting in the Europe.
Someone may dislike it because he/she doesn’t have any knowledge about this artwork, they might not like it because they are not interested to understand the story behind this artwork.
