critical thinking

One of the feedback from my first semester is the lack of critical thinking and critical writing this got my interest.

critical thinking is the process of objectively analyzing information, considering various perspectives, and making informed, logical decisions. It involves questioning assumptions, evaluating evidence, and recognizing biases to form well-reasoned conclusions. According to Facione (2011), critical thinking enhances problem-solving abilities and fosters intellectual independence, enabling individuals to navigate complex challenges effectively

in a world inundated with information, critical thinking has emerged as a vital skill for navigating the complexities of our time. it goes beyond accepting facts at face value, urging us to question, analyze evaluate ideas and arguments. critical thinking fosters intellectual, curiosity, independence of thought, and ability to discern truth from manipulation. it equips us with the tool to challenge assumptions, consider multiple perspective and make informed decisions.

writing a business plan

studying how to implement a business plan during my masters program as a medical doctor, I employed the Rolfe Reflective Model. Firstly, I identified the situation by recognizing my lack of prior business knowledge and its relevance to my medical background. Then, I analyzed my feelings of curiosity and apprehension. After that, I evaluated the implications of integrating business skills into my medical career and recognized the potential benefits of diversification. Lastly, I formulated an action plan, which led me to take a CPD course to learn about business strategies and enhance my entrepreneurial acumen (Rolfe et al., 2001)

CONTINOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

During my swot analysis, i identified poor communication as a weakness that hindered my professional growth. recognizing its impact on collaboration and relationship. i choose to address this area by enrolling in a CPD course on effective communication. i acknowledge my feelings of frustration and determination to improve the evaluation helped me grasp the significance of clear communication in achieving success. subsequently, i derived an action plan to enhance my communication skills through active listening, assertiveness, and empathy. the CPD course empowered me with practical strategies, enabling me to overcome my weakness and communicate more effectively

SWOT ANALYSIS

Strength = time management, team networking, work-life balance, effective communication

Weakness= fear of the unknown, stress management

Opportunity= mentorship, efficient leadership

Threats=External pressure from market dynamics, resistance to change

i have realized being an effective leader is an ongoing process of self improvement and recognizing my strength and addressing my weaknesses, and capitalize on opportunities while mitigating threats which will contribute to becoming a more impactful and successful leader.

coil group project

during my first semester as a master student in Coventry we did a group study that critically analyze the effect of globalization on health in Zimbabwe and United Kingdom. This course work was a challenge to me because feedback i got from my lecturer was that i didn’t critically analyze the work the motivated me to study more on critical thinking.
