in the wake of completing my Masters in Global Healthcare Management, my trajectory towards becoming an effective leader in a year, I intend to cultivate essential leadership attributes through a well-structured action plan.
By actively participating in group projects, I aim to foster collaborative teamwork while valuing diverse perspectives. Implementing efficient time management techniques and maintaining a structured schedule will enable me to optimize productivity. Through engaging in workshops, public speaking events, and mentorship opportunities, I aspire to refine my communication skills for clear expression and attentive listening.
Furthermore, honing critical thinking and analysis capabilities will be accomplished by actively seeking diverse viewpoints, analyzing data, and making informed decisions. Success will be gauged through self-assessment, peer feedback, and tangible outcomes, ensuring that I am well-prepared to navigate the intricate landscape of global healthcare management as an efficient and impactful leader.
Having successfully attained proficiency in time management, effective communication, team leadership, and critical thinking during my MSc journey, I am poised to embark on the path of becoming an efficient leader. Armed with these foundational skills, I envision myself delving into leadership development programs and forging connections with seasoned mentors. The road ahead involves refining my strategic decision-making abilities, fostering an inclusive work environment, and cultivating emotional intelligence. Despite potential obstacles such as shifting dynamics and the need to balance multifaceted responsibilities, I remain proactive in seeking insights, continually learning, and employing innovative approaches. My determination to navigate challenges will fuel my growth as a proficient and impactful leader.
after my lectures and after critical thinking. I will choose Servant leadership philosophy that prioritizes serving the needs of others before self interest leaders who embrace this approach focus pn supporting, empowering and developing their team members to foster their groeth and success (Greenleaf, 2013). By practicing empathy, active listening and compassion, servant leaders create a positive and collaborative work environment.
this very day i learnt about critical thinking and writing and i love the auditorium. this got my attention because after this session i have gotten feedback from lecturers to improve on my critical thinking.
in one of my session during my masters journey we were taught different leadership styles. Tansformational leadership is a leadership style that inspires and motivates followers to achieve exceptional performance beyond their expectations. Leaders in this model focus on elevating the aspirations of their team, encouraging innovation, and fostering a shared vision (Bass & Riggio, 2006).
Servant leadership emphasizes the leader’s commitment to serving their team members’ needs and promoting their growth and development. It involves putting the team’s interests first, empowering them to succeed, and fostering a collaborative and supportive environment (Greenleaf, 1977).
Situational leadership theory suggests that effective leadership varies based on the situation and the development level of followers. Leaders must adapt their leadership style, ranging from directing and coaching to supporting and delegating, to meet the unique needs of their team members (Hersey & Blanchard, 1988).
I experienced an enriching journey during my first semester, upon receiving feedback on my coursework, I realized the importance of enhancing my critical analysis skills to excel academically. recognizing the need for improvement, i took proactive steps to seek guidance from my lecturers and academic resources. consequently, i achieved a deeper understanding of the subject matter. and my subsequent coursework showcased improved critical analysis.
additionally, time management played a crucial role as I submitted all my assignment before the deadlines. by prioritizing tasks and adhering to a well structured schedule, i successfully balanced my academic responsibilities and personal life.
furthermore, I embarked on a CPD course focused on effective communication
To develop good communication skills, I will implement a systematic approach. Firstly, I will enroll in a communication skills training program to learn effective techniques such as active listening and assertive communication. Secondly, I will seek opportunities to practice communication regularly, engaging in discussions, presentations, and group activities. Additionally, I will actively solicit feedback from peers and mentors to identify areas of improvement. Reading books and attending workshops on effective communication will further enhance my knowledge. Lastly, I will remain patient and persistent in my efforts, understanding that developing strong communication skills takes time and consistent practice.
As a master’s student in global healthcare management, I had the opportunity to explore numerous facets of the fields during my first and second semesters. My first semester experience was working as a team to complete course work about globalization and its impact on health. I was unable to work together efficiently with the team, which impaired my marks.
Critical thinking, team management, resource management, and effective communication were among the primary areas I concentrated on. To further my knowledge and skills, I participated in some CPD courses that focused on team management and effective communication. One memorable instance in which critical thinking was essential was during a complex project focused on healthcare system optimization.
FEELING
I was both excited and nervous at the start of the endeavor. While I realize the need of critical thinking in such a task, I also recognize the difficulties it may present. I wanted to make sure that my contributions were well-reasoned and significant, which added some pressure.
EVALUATION
Reflecting on the assignment, I discovered that my descriptive abilities and timely completion of coursework were my significant strengths, as seen by feedback. However, I recognized the need to improve my critical thinking skills. Critical thinking a core in education (Mcpeck, 2016)
ANALYSIS
When I examined the factors that drove my critical thinking, I discovered that I relied heavily on existing knowledge and theories rather than investigating new frameworks. This hampered my ability to think creatively and investigate other alternatives.
ACTION PLAN
I created a SMART action plan to target my area of development. I will actively seek opportunities to practice critical thinking skills, such as analyzing real-world case studies or reviewing research publications.
In conclusion, by setting explicit goals, devoting regular practice time, and relating critical thinking development to my academic and professional ambitions.
