MY FUTURE PLAN

My experiences have led me to conclude that there is no such thing as a single plan, an event that goes exactly as expected, or a plan that has always existed. My strategy always evolved as I matured, learned, and explored; instead, it was more progressive. I’ve always allowed myself the latitude to amend my plans as necessary to take account of changing conditions. and for me, this has always worked.

At this point in my life, where I’m content with the education and experiences I’m gaining. My career goal is to work in learning and development. I’m going to concentrate my efforts on switching from my current training program to the University Hospital of Coventry’s learning and development department. And I’ll accomplish it by taking the required CPD courses, attending organization-provided training, and expanding my network at the same time.

MY NHS CAREER

When I first arrived in the UK and began my Msc Global Healthcare Management program, I included several NHS case studies in my coursework. I was simply drawn to it, and the next thing I wanted to do was work with NHS. I began applying for several jobs and getting ready for the interviews. I had the good fortune to be approved for interviews and joined the NHS as a bank employee, first as an administrative officer and afterward as a vaccinator in the NHS vaccination program. I had a great time at both jobs. I gained experience working in the NHS and gained the confidence to work in the UK.

I eventually decided that I wanted to work in the same field after completing my internship as the lead for training and development at Vital Healthcare Alliance. I, therefore, began looking for employment in the training, learning, and development departments. I was fortunate to land a part-time position as an administrative officer in the maternity department at University Hospital, NHS Coventry, and Warwickshire, to manage an ongoing training program.

I’m still working with the same program, and it has provided me with the assurance that I want to continue with the learning and development industry. I’m currently working to better myself so I can play better roles in the NHS learning and development department.

INTERNSHIP- TRAINING AND DEVLOPEMENT LEAD

My internship for the MSc in Global Healthcare Management program was a great learning opportunity. I began by submitting an application to work as a training and development lead at Vital Healthcare Alliance, a management consulting firm for the healthcare industry. It was founded by students to get professional experience in preparation for working in a healthcare company. It is a host organization of Coventry University. I’ve always been interested in education and training and even had some experience working in such fields. I was successful in landing the role.

As soon as I started, I was enjoying myself at work. I was in charge of leading training sessions for the company’s staff, which involved learning about their needs and seeing to it that all of their requirements for growth and learning were satisfied. As the lead for training and development, I scheduled weekly training sessions, prepared supporting materials, booked a lecture hall, created advertisements and posters for the training sessions, create register forms, attendance forms, and feedback forms, and at the end create reports with all the data.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, took use of the opportunity, and learned a lot. and as a result of the experience and knowledge I obtained, I also ended up landing a job at the NHS in the training department.

CONTINOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Communication and Interpersonal skills

Internal interpersonal communication abilities are essential for performing effectively, I quickly realized when I started my educational and exceptionally professional career in the United Kingdom. In my first two semesters, I discovered I needed to build on my interpersonal communication skills because networking with classmates, colleagues, and others in your immediate vicinity is crucial. I’ll be able to communicate my thoughts and intentions more effectively as a result. I, therefore, decided to enroll in a course on interpersonal communication skills which has helped me to improve.

Conflict Resolution

My team had trouble managing team disagreements while we were working in an organization as part of my internship. At that point, I made the decision to study more about conflict management because it is a skill that is helpful when working in any organization. That gave me new insight into how to handle internal conflicts, organizational changes, and outside demands.

Data Security Awareness

Training in data security awareness makes it easier for people to comprehend good online behavior, the security risks connected with their choices, and how to spot online and email threats. Additionally, it provided me with guidance on how to safeguard sensitive data. When we deal with such information regarding patients and workers in hospitals, it is quite important.

Health, Safety, and Welfare

Every person who works in the workplace, whether they are an employee, self-employed, a supervisor, or a manager, needs to have a solid awareness of health and safety. You may make your workplace safer for both you and others by implementing sound health and safety procedures. This course taught me the value of solid work habits and how to develop them.

Equality, Diversity, and Human Rights

It was essential for me to understand equality and diversity as a global student. In today’s environment, it is crucial that you have all the necessary knowledge regarding these when working with any organization. Encouraging diversity and equality at work is a crucial component of effective people management. Creating work environments and cultures where each person may feel comfortable, a feeling of belonging, and is enabled to realize their full potential is key to reaping its rewards.

Safeguarding Children & Adults

Safeguarding training enables you to recognise numerous indicators of wellness while working in any healthcare sector where you interact with a wide range of people. The ability to speak with children and other vulnerable populations is important. Additionally, it helped me  how to properly document any suspected cases of abuse and neglect and how to inform the appropriate authorities of their findings.

Preventing Radicalisation (Mental Health)

Working on a worldwide scale makes it imperative to understand radicalization, how to prevent it, or at the very least your part in doing so. My understanding of my responsibilities and the hazards associated with radicalization improved as a result of this course.

Infection, Prevention, and Control

No matter whose service they provide, healthcare professionals’ main goal is always to prevent infections. The risk of infection in your job will be reduced by making one aware of the risks in order to protect them and the coworkers around. I took this course to familiarise myself with all the information I would need because I would be working primarily in hospitals.

Resusitation Newborn, Pediatric and Adults

CPR training gives people the knowledge, assurance, and skills they need to remain composed in the event of a medical emergency and contribute to lifesaving. Everyone can perform CPR with the right training, and since I work in the healthcare field, it’s crucial for me to be aware of this because it could come in handy at any time.

Anaphylaxis

Healthcare providers need to know how to recognise the warning signs and symptoms of an anaphylactic reaction. The training I received on anaphylaxis helped me understand the significance of addressing reactions as medical emergencies and clarified any potential problems.

Fire Safety

Training in fire safety lowers the likelihood of fires starting and gives one the assurance to handle crises. It guarantees that everyone will be able to behave appropriately to protect themselves and others. It is crucial to understand fire safety, and this training helped me feel comfortable acting cautiously and made me aware of potential dangers.

Moving and Handling

Everyone and everywhere needs to be able to do manual handling, whether at home or at work. Appropriate manual handling techniques can educate you on how to move or lift things around you and help you avoid accidents in your daily duties. I would have to perform these tasks because I will be working in hospitals, therefore thanks to this training, I am now in compliance.

GLOBAL HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT

COVENTRY UNIVERSITY, UNITED KINGDOM

Educational Experience

As I was looking for postgraduate programs after earning my dental degree. The field of global healthcare management particularly piqued my interest. I read about all the modules and thought I would love to continue in this field because I found it so interesting. Not surprisingly, I thoroughly loved learning all the modules and completing my assignments. I did well on all my assignments and continued to learn new things every day.

I struggled in the beginning to understand the assessments because the educational system and study culture were undoubtedly different from those in my own country. It took some time for me to get used to it. But once I got used to it, everything made sense, and I was doing well. I learned all the essentials of healthcare management, including strategic management, reviewing and creating policies, creating a business proposal from scratch and presenting it to the board, and participating in numerous group activities. It also helped me develop my confidence and interpersonal skills.

I am therefore really happy that I chose this program and university because I had a very positive experience and succeeded in my goals.

Living in the United Kingdom

I had never lived by myself before moving to the UK. Hence, it was the first time I had stayed alone in a foreign nation. I was anxious about starting my new voyage while also feeling afraid and joyful. I came here expecting to have the experiences of a lifetime, and that is exactly what happened. I tried a lot of new things, and whether the experiences were good or unpleasant, I believe they provided me with all I needed at that moment in my life.

All the positive experiences involved meeting people from all over the world, getting to know various people, developing a fresh perspective on a variety of topics, learning many fascinating things that originated from all over the world, making really good friends, and learning about life in the UK. whenever I could, I went to tourist attractions. And not-so-good experiences were feeling lonely at times, missing my family and old friends, feeling stressed out from juggling work, school, and household responsibilities, and initially found it difficult to prepare food for myself.

Yet in the end, everything was worthwhile. Now, I enjoy doing the things that at first gave me trouble. For instance, cooking is one of my favorite activities these days. I also enjoy multitasking because otherwise, I don’t feel very productive. As a result, I’m typically busy with my academics and work these days, which no longer stresses me out but instead makes me happy.

Part-time Jobs

As an international dentist, I was aware that without registration, I would not be permitted to practice dentistry in the UK. Yet when I was in the UK, I had to provide for myself. I had already made up my mind to choose occupations other than my career or what I had been doing up until this point. It can be challenging to make this change, but I’m so pleased I did because it has led to many important learnings and experiences. You get compliant for various attributes through diverse works.

I made the decision to start working as soon as I arrived in order to obtain experience with the work culture in the UK. I made the decision to pursue customer-facing positions because they will enable me to develop my communication abilities and because they will be beneficial for my management and leadership career. I began working at Domino’s front desk. While I was working, I had the opportunity to speak with numerous local and foreign students. I got better at small talk, which significantly boosted my confidence outside the workplace.

BACHELOR OF DENTAL SURGERY

Maharashtra University of Health Sciences

I went to dentistry school because I have always had a passion for people and health. I loved learning and was interested in dentistry. I also like doing my clinics, which I began conducting in the third year of school. Nevertheless, I was also introduced to a topic called community dentistry, or public health dentistry, and this topic in particular piqued my interest. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working in that section because I got to know more about it. I began attending numerous community health and dentistry camps as a result, and over time I started managing the preparations for such camps and visits.

In those camps, we provided free services to the rural community and taught them about dental hygiene and health. In a short time, I enrolled in the state government’s national service program. We used to travel to these remote locations and hold road shows to inform people about diseases like tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. Discuss personal hygiene with them, provide them with free dental exams, and organize rallies to encourage them.

At that point, I made the decision to seek a post-graduate degree in this particular field because I wanted to understand more about it. As soon as I had my degree, I began working as an associate dentist in a dental hospital. It was during this time that I also came to the realization that my interests lie more in the hospital’s management and administration than in the clinical side. And I found that I like running the hospital and doing administrative tasks. I chose healthcare management as my postgraduate major as a result.
