Refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/professionaldevelopment.coventry.ac.uk\/default.aspx\">the course booking system<\/a> for dates of future sessions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarise yourself with the <strong>academic year <\/strong>(see <a href=\"https:\/\/share.coventry.ac.uk\/staff\/ps\/Registry\/Pages\/Academic-Calendar.aspx\">Academic Calendar<\/a>) and how this links to your role, including <strong>lifecycles<\/strong> of the courses\/modules that you are involved in delivering. <strong>Talk to your line manager <\/strong>to understand how they relate to your role.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You also need to understand <strong>institutional conventions <\/strong>for organising its courses and modules (see <a href=\"https:\/\/share.coventry.ac.uk\/staff\/ps\/Registry\/Pages\/Registry-Services.aspx\">Registry Services web page<\/a>) along with the associated platforms (e.g. Kuali, Solar, Sonic) and <strong>documentation<\/strong> (e.g. Module Descriptor- or \u201cMID\u201d- available via the <a href=\"https:\/\/share.coventry.ac.uk\/staff\/Pages\/MID.aspx\">Module Information Directory<\/a>). For a Lecturer (Teaching), this may include liaising with employers, collating active scheme of work, safeguarding duties or preparing documents for Ofsted inspections.
