As educators, we need to ensure that our teaching, learning and assessment practice can be engaged with by <strong><em>all<\/em> of our diverse learners<\/strong>. This could include moving towards more culturally diverse approaches to teaching, such as commitment to decolonise the curriculum, as well as recognising how our students\u2019 (and our own) cultures impact how we perceive and move through the world. A good place to start is Academic Development\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/acdev.orgdev.coventry.domains\/teaching-learning\/equality-diversity-inclusion\">Equality diversity and inclusion page<\/a>, and the resources listed there. Articles in the <a href=\"https:\/\/teach.coventry.domains\/categories\/accessibility-and-inclusion\/\">Accessibility and Inclusion<\/a> section of the <a href=\"https:\/\/teach.coventry.domains\/\">Teaching Knowledge Base<\/a> provide practical guidance on how you can design your teaching with the needs of all learners in mind.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your assessment&nbsp; design should also be inclusive- see tips for <a href=\"https:\/\/acdev.orgdev.coventry.domains\/application\/files\/8516\/0431\/4974\/Culturally_inclusive_assessment_modified.pdf\">Culturally Inclusive Assessment<\/a> <a>for<\/a> some starting points.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/professionaldevelopment.coventry.ac.uk\/\">course booking system<\/a> for sessions under the Inclusive Practice theme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"stfipfurther\">Take it Further<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Explore the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advance-he.ac.uk\/membership\/all-member-benefit-projects\/organisational-wellbeing\">Organisational Wellbeing<\/a> member resource from AdvanceHE, which considered the impacts and effects of different institutional approaches to staff and student wellbeing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consider some of these approaches to <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kcl.ac.uk\/activelearning\/2020\/10\/28\/safe-spaces-and-brave-spaces\/\">fostering inclusive classroom discussion<\/a> from the King&#8217;s College London blog.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/scale.wp.worc.ac.uk\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/scale.wp.worc.ac.uk\/\">SCALE project<\/a> at the University of Worcester is a self-paced series of resources with many suggestions for inclusive practice for students with a range of learning differences including dyslexia, sensory needs, and ADHD.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inclusive practice and inclusive pedagogies can have contested meanings and implementation.
