So far, in my third year of university, I am studying the modules: ‘Punishment and Penology’, ‘Serious and Violent Crime’ and ‘Volunteering in Schools’.
I am also in the module ‘Final Project in Sociology’ for my dissertation. Its primary goal is to learn how to formulate a research question and address it using suitable methods, while strictly following ethical standards. I am currently in the research phase of my dissertation, which I plan to complete by the end of the academic year in April 2025.
I plan to focus my dissertation on the impact of social media on young adults’ body image, self-esteem, and eating habits, a topic that holds personal significance for me. Given the widespread influence of social media in shaping perceptions and behaviours, I am to explore how these platforms affect young adults’ mental health and everyday life.
