Do I know myself completely? Well, after watching Tasha Eurich’s TED talk, no.
I often contemplate between knowing myself better than anyone else and pretending to know myself better. We all have a illusion in our mind about ourselves, it doesn’t matter how we actually are inside out. We often let ourselves down, thinking we’re not good enough for something. Just like “Objects in the rear mirror are closer than they appear”. It’s either you’re looking in the wrong place or you’re looking at it in a wrong way.
Self awareness is vital for every human being because it is true that some said, “no one knows you, better than you do”. Honestly, you know all your secrets, you know when you did something wrong but decided not to disclose with anyone, you know when you did something good but you decided not to brag about it or mention it anyone. You know you better than anyone else. It is essential that you give yourself appreciation when you’ve done something good, and you take accountability when you do something wrong. Looking at a problem with a different perspective changes the power of the problem. I learnt today that I’m aware of who I think I might be and not who I really am.
