Suzzy Egbi Ochonu is a driven legal professional and academic. She was called to the Nigerian bar in 2015 as a barrister and solicitor and has over 7 years of legal experience across litigation and corporate law. She obtained master’s in International Commercial Law from Coventry university United Kingdom with a distinction. Currently, she is a 2nd year PhD researcher in law risk and compliance.
Suzzy is guided by a team of distinguished supervisors whose expertise spans tax law, digital policy, and international legal systems. Their mentorship has been instrumental in shaping a research project that not only addresses national concerns but also contributes to global discourse on digital taxation. To ensure the academic rigour and relevance of my research, I have actively presented and tested my work across diverse scholarly platforms. This includes participation in three major conferences: two national events in the UK: the Cambridge Tax Discussion Group and the Tax Research Network as well as one international conference in Brussels hosted by the European Academic Network of VAT. These engagements have allowed me to expose my research to critical feedback from a wide spectrum of academics and professionals, enriching its depth and practical relevance.
